VersaTest Automation Server Plugin for Micro Focus Quality Center

The Ascert VersaTest Automation Server Plugin for Micro Focus Quality Center Software (VTAQC) bridges the gap between Micro Focus Quality Center and VersaTest’s powerful testing solutions. This provides a seamless flow of information that adds significant value to the testing and monitoring process.
Expanding Enterprise Testing Capabilities
VTAQC provides a link between VersaTest Automator and Micro Focus Quality Center. This enables test definition and execution to occur within Quality Center, providing automation validation, feedback of results, and pass/fail criteria.
VTAQC automatically creates central management, visibility, and a repository of tests and test results. This includes automatic auditing/storage of all VersaTest results files within Quality Center enabling rapid access and audit trail of tests conducted.

VersaTest/AS Classic Migration Edition

VersaTest/AS Classic Migration Edition (CME) expands the flexibility of the VesaTest Classic product by increasing ease of use and product functionality. CME is the step between VersaTest Classic and VersaTest Automator allowing for a simpler upgrade path between the two products. It uses the same web-browser interface as VersaTest Automator, removing the need for software installation on local PC's and providing synchronization of all updates and versions. Use of the original VTALK scripts from VersaTest Classic provides a smooth migration while leveraging the advanced features of VersaTest Automation Server
Step Up to Testing Automation
CME allows users to experience dynamic communications configuration. This enables users without knowledge of VTALK scripting language to make changes to communication links. It also enables communication settings, such as TCP/IP address and port, to be changed from the VTAS GUI without having to re-compile the VTALK script.

CME supports multiple testing environments allowing the definition of self-contained testing environments containing only those components required for a specific testing use. This ensures that users testing in one environment don’t impact testing being performed in other environments.

VTERM Terminal Simulator
"Comprehensive green-screen testing"
Despite the cry for "application modernization", legacy applications with their block-mode "green-screen" terminals refuse to die. Neither does the need to test them. Ascert's VTERM Terminal Simulator enables the automated testing of these applications in a manner that allows for consistent repeatable results with the minimum effort possible.
Terminal Testing Should Not Be Terminal
The VTERM Terminal Simulator is an extension module for VersaTest. It uses the core VersaTest product to provide message handling and script execution capabilities, and then adds additional "intelligence" to allow the simulator to act as a virtual terminal.
The scripts interact with the virtual terminal just as a real operator would, using a number of script extensions made available by the simulator, such as "Press the F1 key" or "Enter data at field label". These scripts will typically be modifications to scripts generated automatically following the successful capture of a terminal session with a real user.
When executed, these scripts can verify the application operation by reading the display of the virtual terminal or by comparing screen images against those captured previously. The scripts can also instrument the performance of the application by insertion of timers at the appropriate locations, values for which will be displayed to the operator within VersaTest during or after a test is run.
